Specializing in character prosthetics, animatronics, creatures, and replica animals, Howard Berger has over 800 feature film and television credits that span four decades. Over the course of his 40-year illustrious career, Berger has worked on such projects as KILL BILL 1 & 2, OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, LONE SURVIVOR, BREAKING BAD, THE GREEN MILE, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, DEEPWATER HORIZON, and PATRIOTS DAY with Mark Wahlberg; Seth MacFarlane’s THE ORVILLE SEASONS 1-3; THE WALKING DEAD SEASONS 1-12; THEM for Amazon and most recently THE SANTA CLAUSES with Tim Allen for Disney+

In recognition for his work on THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Berger won the Academy Award for Best Make-up, as well as a British Academy Award for Best Achievement in Make-up. In 2012 he was yet again nominated for an Academy Award for designing and creating the portrait makeup for Sir Anthony Hopkins for the FOX Searchlight feature HITCHCOCK.
In 1988 Berger Co-founded KNB EFX Group, Inc. For the past 34 years KNB has garnered a reputation as the most prolific Special Effects Make-up studio in Hollywood. KNB has been recognized by such organizations as The Hollywood Film Festival, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, as well as receiving numerous Emmy wins. Collaborating with the most sought-after artists in the business, KNB’s work continues to provide filmmakers with the most ingenious and creative make-up effects to date. Their 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility located in Chatsworth, California, is the base of operations for film & television production all over the world.
Berger has recently released his first book, MASTER OF MAKE-UP EFFECTS, that has sold out in the US and is being read worldwide.
Berger is currently a Governor for the Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Branch for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), and resides in Sherman Oaks, CA with his artist wife, Mirjam.
